Admissions Overview

New Horizon seeks students with the potential to benefit from and to succeed in the school’s unique academic and enrichment programs. Students who benefit most from the school are those who are intellectually inquisitive, strongly motivated, and highly committed to the challenges and opportunities the school offers. The school aims to admit students who are capable of handling a strong academic curriculum successfully and happily.

Admission to New Horizon Lower and Middle School, therefore, involves a highly selective process, based upon an entrance examination, transcripts, teacher recommendations, and an interview. Candidates for admission to preschool and pre-Kindergarten are considered on the basis of chronological age and readiness for entry to each level. We look for families whose goals for their children are compatible with the school’s goals.

New Horizon School admits students of any race, color, religion, national privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, and national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, financial aid programs, and other school-administered programs.
